- FamilySearch’s Newfoundland Supreme Court Estate Files 1824-1930 includes the Administration for the estate of William Pike, husband of Eliza Ann McLean, in 1899 (Film 2057447 DGS 8123984 Images 1056-1068 of 1210). The Administration includes the following Petition from George Pike, son of William Pike, dated October 24 1899 (Images 1065-1066) which states:
The Petition of George Pike of Carbonear Laborer, Respectfully sheweth as follows: -

See Notes for William Pike, husband of Eliza Ann McLean, for a complete transcript of George Pike’s 1899 Petition.
The Bonavista Methodist Church records the marriage of James Stevens of Wareham, Dorset, England and Lucreta (sic) Pike of Carbonear on October 21, 1844 in Catalina (as recorded in the Registers of Vital Statistics). The Bonavista Methodist Church also has the following Stevens and Stephens baptisms (as I transcribed from the PANL Parish Record Collection up to August 10, 1851):
1. William Robert born n/g bap. Nov 30 1845 in Little Catalina, son of James (Ship Carpenter) and Lucretia Stevens
2. George James born Feb 10 1847 bap. Jul 11 1847 in Little Catalina, son of George (Planter) and Lucretia Stephens
3. Laura Ann born Mar 17 1849 bap. Sep 2 1849 in Little Catalina, son of James (Fisherman) and Lucretia Stevens
The Catalina Methodist Parish Records (located on the Newfoundland & Labrador Gen Web under Trinity Bay) have the marriage of Robert Stevens and Susanna Perry (both of Catalina) on January 19, 1879 in Catalina.
The United Church Cemetery in Catalina (located on the Newfoundland & Labrador Gen Web under Trinity Bay) has the following monument inscriptions:
Stevens Susannah Died September 18 1915 Age 78 years
Stevenson Robert Died April 13, 1911 Age 64 years. Husband of Susannah
Thus, the surnames Stevens and Stevenson are both used for Robert. Based on his monument inscription, Robert is born about 1847. However, his Death Registration (located on the Newfoundland's Grand Banks website) records his age as 68 implying a year of birth about 1843. Although not precise, these years of birth are consistent with the baptism of William Robert, son of James (Ship Carpenter) and Lucretia Stevens, on November 30 1845.
From this analysis, I conclude Lucretia Pike, daughter of William Pike and Eliza Ann McLean, married James Stevens on October 21, 1844 in Catalina.
George Pike's Petition names Lucretia Pike's husband as William Stevenson. However, I'm satisfied Stevens and Stevenson are used interchangeably, and so this is an explainable discrepancy. The first name discrepancy is a concern, but too many other items are consistent. James and William may be the same person whose full name was possibly James William or William James. It is also possible George Pike, when writing his Petition, mis-remembered his sister Lucretia's husband's first name.
