- FamilySearch's Nova Scotia, Antigonish, Catholic Dioese, 1823-1905 records the baptism of Loretta, daughter of William Deveaux and Catherine Forrester (sic), born March 22 1876 baptized April 4 1876 at St. Alphonsus (New Victoria), New Waterford, Cape Breton. This suggests William Devoe died after this baptism and certainly after mid 1875.
Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics records the marriage of William Elias Deveaux age 21 Bachelor Farmer born Little Bras d'Or, son of Peter and Collet Deveaux, and Catherine Forrest age 18 Single, daughter of Alexander and Mary Anne Forrest. So, Catherine's parents are Alexander and Mary Anne.
Nova Scotia Historical Vital Statistics records the marriage of Catherine Devoe age 28 Widow born Little Bras d'Or, daughter of Alex and Mary Ann, and Henry Stubbart age 40 Bachelor Farming born Point Aconi. As the widow Catherine Devoe's parents are also Alex and Mary Ann, it is reasonable to conclude she is Catherine Forrest, widow of William Elias Devoe.
This indicates William Elias Devoe died between mid 1875 and September 1878. It is reasonable to believe William Deveaux age 33 Married born Little Bras d'Or who died September 10 1876 is William Elias Devoe, husband of Catherine Forrest.
