  The 1838 Census of Little Antz, Petit DeGrat, Barachoua, Cocourie, and Cap a La Ronde, Richmond County records Peter Fougere & Esther with 3 Females over 14. So, Esther LeBlanc, wife of Pierre Fougere, died after this Census. Ancestry's Acadia, Canada, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1754-1946 records the marriage (no. 38) of Élisabeth Fougère, "fille majeure de Pierre Fougère et ’d'Esther Leblanc", and Honoré Martel, widower of Magdeleine Marchand, on November 18 1845 in Arichat. There is no indication Esther LeBlanc is deceased at the time of this marriage (i.e. there is no "defunt" prior to her name). The marriage (no. 36) of Hubert Babin and Marie Hureau records Hubert Babin as the "fils majeur de defunt Joseph Babin" and Marie Hureau as the "fille majeure de defunt Jean Louis Hureau". So, deceased parents were identified in these marriage records, although there is no certainty they were always so identified. But this does suggest Esther LeBlanc was alive at the time of Élisabeth Fougère's marriage in November 1845.
