Notes - The 1811 Census of Grand Digue records Polycarpe LeBlanc, Simon LeBlanc, John LeBlanc, and the widow of Charles LeBlanc.
The 1813 Militia Roll for Grand Digue and D'Escousse records Paul LeBlanc age 53, Simon LeBlanc age 47, Joseph LeBlanc age 39, and John LeBlanc age 35. The names and ages of Paul, Simon, and Joseph are consistent with 3 sons of Alexandre LeBlanc and Marguerite Boudrot, who are known to have "settled on the North side of Isle Madame". Alexandre LeBlanc and Marguerite Boudrot are also known to have a son Charles. See Notes for Alexandre LeBlanc, husband of Marguerite Boudrot, for further information.
John LeBlanc's household in the 1811 Census consists of 2 Males 14-60, 1 Female 14-60, 1 Male under 14, and 2 Females under 14; with 3 Males and Females Unmarried. As those under 14 can not be married, it follows that the Male 14-60 other than John is a widower.
The 1813 Militia Roll for D'Escousse records John LeBlanc age 35 with 2 Boys and 2 Girls. Immediately below John is Joseph LeBlanc age 30 with no Women, Boys, or Girls. It is reasonable to conclude this Joseph is the Male 14-60 other than John in the 1811 Census. This strongly suggests John and Joseph are brothers.
The 1813 Militia Roll for D'Escousse records Jean LeBlanc and Susanne Landry with 2 sons and 2 daughters. So, one son is born before the 1811 Census and one son after this Census.
