Notes |
- Joseph Small's Diary of Burgeo states "Thomas and John died as men, of consumption".
There is no Death Registration for a Thomas Caines in the transcription of the Vital Records Registers of Death for the Burgeo and LaPoile District available on the Newfoundland Grand Banks website. Possibly, Thomas Caines died before 1891.
There is no Thomas Caines recorded in McAlpine's 1894-1897 Directory of Burgeo available on the Newfoundland Grand Banks website.
My search of the Burgeo Methodist Burials in the Rooms Parish Record Collection (PRC) did not find any Caines burials between 1882 and 1959. Possibly, Thomas Caines died before 1882.
It seems likely Thomas Caines died during the 1870's, for which the Burgeo Parish Registers have been lost.
