Notes - Jean Bouche is the godfather of Bernardin Benoit, son of Boniface Benoit and Marie Josèphe Bouche, who is baptized August 25 1771 at the Passage de la Petite Brador, Cape Breton. This Marie Josèphe Bouche is the daughter of Honoré Boucher dit Villedieu and Marie Anne dit La Sonde. As Jean Bouche is Bernardin's godfather, he is likely Marie Josèphe Bouche's brother, and so this baptism is evidence Jean Bouche, son of Honoré Boucher and Marie-Anne Marres dit La Sonde, is alive and in Cape Breton in 1771.
Most of the children of Honoré Boucher dit Villedieu and Marie-Anne Marres dit La Sonde settled in Arichat including Bellony/Benonit, Jean, Anne-Marie, Pierre, and Angélique. The 1811 Census of Arichat records Benonit Bouche; Peter Bouche, Joseph Bouche, and Simon Bouche, sons of John; Charles Landry's widow (i.e. Anne-Marie Bouche); Pierre Bouche Senior; and Paul Giroir Senior (husband of Angélique Bouche). The 1813 Militia Roll for Arichat records Belony (age 67); Peter, Joseph, and Simon, presumed sons of John; Charles Landre (age 50) presumed son of Anne-Marie, Peter (age 60), and Paul Giroir (age 60).
Louis Boucher dit Villedieu is recorded in the 1811 Census of River Bourgeois and the 1813 Militia Roll for RIver Bourgeois.
There are no other Boucher's recorded in the 1811 Census of Cape Breton. So, it is reasonable to conclude John Boucher whose sons Peter, Joseph, and Simon are recorded in the 1811 Census of Arichat is the son of Honoré Boucher dit Villedieu and Marie-Anne Marres dit La Sonde.
John Bushee (Bouches) made the following Petition. Although this Petition seems to be dated May 1809, the Nova Scotia Archives website dates the Petition in 1803.
Petition for grant of 400 acres at Little Tracadie near Arichat for him, his wife and five children. May 1809
It is reasonable to believe the five children include sons Peter, Joseph, and Simon as well as an unmarried daughter (i.e. Female age 14 to 60) residing with Peter Bouche, son of John, in the 1811 Census of Arichat. This accounts for four of Jean Boucher's five children.

1808 Land Petitions from John Boucher and Simon Boucher, son of the "late" John Boucher, both reference land on the south side of Arichat.
