- Stephen A White's article Fondateurs de la Paroisse d'Arichat Cap-Breton identifies Paul Girouard as the husband of Angélique Boucher, daughter of Honoré Boucher and Marie-Anne Marres dit La Sonde, and as the brother-in-law of Pierre Boucher. So, Pierre Boucher is the son of Honoré Boucher and Marie-Anne Marres dit La Sonde.
There are Petitions from Pierre Bouche in 1811 and from Peter Boucher Sr in 1815:
1811 Petition: Petition to Nepean: Petitioner, age 50, was born in Louisbourg, has resided the past 27 years at Arichat. He is married and has six children. He asks a title to a lot of twelve acres on the southern side of Arichat Harbour, on which he resides. Note: complied with. Report of Crawley to Clarke: 13 acres on Arichat Harbour. Plan.
1815 Petition: Petition to Fitzherbert: Petitioner, age 51, a native of the island, has a wife and five children. He has received a small fish lot of thirteen acres. He asks land in the cove at the grand entrance to Arichat Harbour. Note: complied with.
One of Pierre Boucher's children may have died between the 1811 and 1815 Petitions.
In the 1811 Census of Arichat, there is a Peter Bouche Senior with 2 Males 14 to 60 (one is Pierre Boucher), 3 Females 14 to 60 (one is Dorothée Boudrot), and 3 Unmarried Males and Females. There are no Males or Females under 14. There is a Peter Bouche Junior immediately following Peter Bouche Senior who must be his son. This accounts for 4 of the 5 or 6 Pierre Boucher children.
In the 1813 Militia Roll for Arichat, Peter Bouche age 60 resides with 1 Woman and 2 Girls. Immediately below Peter Bouche age 60 are listed 5 Bouche's: Joseph age 20, Simon age 30, Peter age 30, Peter age 28, and Joseph age 38. Some of these 5 Bouche's (likely one of the Peter's, one of the Joseph's, and Simon) are sons of John Boucher, Pierre's deceased brother. So, one of the Peter's and one of the Joseph's (most likely the youngest Joseph who is not married) are Peter Bouche's sons. These 2 sons and the 2 Girls residing with Peter Bouche account for 4 of the 5 or 6 Pierre Boucher children.
It's possible the 1 or 2 children unaccounted for are married daughters.
In his Petitions and the 1813 Militia Roll, Pierre Boucher's age implies the following years of birth:
1811 Petition: age 50 implying a year of birth about 1761
1813 Militia Roll: age 60 implying a year of birth about 1753
1815 Petition: age 51 implying a year of birth about 1764
In his 1811 Petition, PIerre Boucher states he was born in Louisbourg. But, Louisbourg was beseiged and finally captured in July 1758, and then destroyed in 1760. So it seems unlikely, if Pierre were born in the early 1760's, he was born in Louisbourg. Also, Pierre's sister Apollonie was born on December 25, 1763 and baptized on August 25, 1771. As Pierre was not baptized at the same time as Apollonie, it is likely he was born before her. The available Louisbourg Parish baptisms between 1752 and 1758 (when they end) have no record of the baptism of a Pierre Boucher.
