Are Arthur William King and Henrietta Goodyear the biological parents of Frederick George, Cranswick Thomas, and William James?

I have not found baptisms for Frederick George, Cranswick Thomas, and William James. Based on current sources, they were born in February, June, and December 1889 respectively. This is not possible if all three are biological sons of Arthur William King and Henrietta Goodyear. The fourth eldest child is Lewis born September 28 1891. Is it reasonable to believe Arthur William King and Henrietta Goodyear had four children in just under four years between their marriage in November 1887 and Lewis' birth in September 1891, with no indication any were twins? See Notes for Cranswick Thomas King and William James King for further information and analysis.

Who are the parents of Elizabeth Taylor, second wife of George Wiseman?

Bill Pritchett’s letters in January 2001 identify Elizabeth Taylor as the daughter of Robert Taylor and Alice Fowler, based on his research at the Provincial Archives of Newfoundland and Labrador (now The Rooms). My own research in The Rooms did not confirm this relationship. I found baptisms for only two candidates in Burnt Head, one of whom I eliminated. This left Robert Taylor and Patience Taylor as Elizabeth Taylor's parents. But I have lingering doubts. Bill Pritchett may also have had oral family history. See Notes for Elizabeth Taylor, second wife of George Wiseman, for further information and analysis.

Is Thomas Pate age 35 Stonemason died January 22 1863 in Johnstone Scotland the husband of Francies Beattie?

I have not found a marriage between Thomas Pate and Francies Beattie. Thomas Pate’s Death Registration does not record him as the husband of Francies Beattie. Francies Beattie’s Death Registration does not record her as the wife of Thomas Pate (although he died over 50 years before Francies Beattie). If Thomas Pate who died January 22 1863 in Johnstone was not married (either regular or irregular) to Francies Beattie, why was she in Johnstone where she married James Brown in June 1863. See Notes for Thomas Pate for further information and analysis. Although it is reasonable to believe Thomas Pate and Francies Beattie were married, I still have lingering doubts as there is no documentary evidence this Thomas Pate is the husband of Francies Beattie.

Who are the parents of James McCluskey, husband of Anne McHenry, and when and where was he born?

I have not found a marriage between James McCluskey and Anne McHenry. England Censuses record James McCluskey as born in Scotland with no record of his town or parish of birth. Their first two children were baptized at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland; indicating James McCluskey and/or Anne McHenry were Catholic. See Notes for James McCluskey, husband of Anne McHenry, for further information and analysis.

Who are the parents of Anne McHenry, wife of James McCluskey, and when and where was she born?

I have not found a marriage between James McCluskey and Anne McHenry. The 1881 Census of Carlisle records Anne McHenry as born in Kirkcudbright Scotland (presumably the parish/town, not the county). Her first two children were baptized at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland; indicating James McCluskey and/or Anne McHenry were Catholic. See Notes for Anne McHenry, wife of James McCluskey, for some further information.

Is Edward James Brown the son of Dorothy Dalton, wife of Joseph Wailes Brown?

Edward James Brown, son of Joseph and Dorothy Brown, is baptized December 14 1831 at St. Mary's, Carlisle. Joseph Wailes Brown and Dorothy Dalton marry July 4 1836 at St. Cuthbert's, Carlisle. Edward James Brown’s age in all Censuses and at his death are consistent with a birth about 1831. At Edward James Brown’s baptism, his father Joseph Brown is recorded as a Grocer. Several documents identify Joseph Wailes Brown, husband of Dorothy Dalton, as a Grocer. Edward James Brown may not be the son of Dorothy Dalton, but of another Dorothy who was an earlier wife of Joseph Wailes Brown. See Notes for Edward James Brown, husband of Mary Ann Smith, for further information.

Who are the parents of Andrew Beattie, husband of Jane Craig?

Assuming Andrew Beattie’s Death Registration recording his father as Thomas Beattie is correct, Thomas Beattie and Frances Corrie who married October 20 1781 in Arthuret Cumberland are the only known candidates. There is a document recording Andrew Beattie as born in Carlisle which is about 12 km south of Kirklinton Cumberland. But, there may well be other, unknown Beattie couples who could be Andrew Beattie’s parents. See Notes for Andrew Beattie, husband of Jane Craig, for further information.
