Notes |
- As Patience Pike, wife of John Pike (k.a. Carpenter John), is the daughter of Edward and Mary Pike of Mosquito; she was born before widow Mary Pike’s second marriage to William Simmons on January 12 1798.
David Pike's Family History & Genealogy Resources website records only 3 burials for a Patience Pike at Carbonear Methodist, and only one of these is for a Patience Pike born before 1798, namely Patience Pike age 87 of Pond Head buried January 28 1880 (with an implied year of birth about 1792).
Gertrude Crosbie's Births, Deaths and Marriages in Newfoundland Newspapers 1810-1890 records the death of Patience Pike age 87 on January 24 1880 in Carbonear with the note "Deceased was the widow of the late John Pike”.
